PolyVR is a Google Cardboard inspired Virtual Reality Viewer. As Virtual Reality (VR) becomes a popular medium of entertainment today, there are many VR viewer products on the market. However, most of them relies on connecting to an external computation unit to function, and their designs overly focus on functionality and disregard how the wearer of the device would appear in the eyes of people around.
In my design, I decided to follow the design guideline of Google Cardboard, a type of VR device that allows people to simply experience VR using their smartphones. Plastics, instead of cardboard like the original design, were used for the sake of durability. I accentuate on the aesthetics of my VR viewer, as I want to promote my design as a fashion accessory, instead of a geeky gadget.

Initial sketches were made, then 3D models were built in SolidWorks. For the final model, I constructed the triggering button mechanism from aluminum, and 3D-printed the remaining components.
